The sabotaged cables were in the process of being dismantled, and because of this, parts of the cables were lying on the ground, while others were rolled up on the cable drums. In the disassembly, the cable ends had been encased in lead to prevent moisture from entering and destroying the cable...
The sabotaged cables were in the process of being dismantled, and because of this, parts of the cables were lying on the ground, while others were rolled up on the cable drums. In the disassembly, the cable ends had been encased in lead to prevent moisture from entering and destroying the cable. In 5-6 of the sabotage attacks, parts of this protection had been removed, leaving the cables cores exposed.
