The company worked partly on repairing vehicles for the Wehrmacht. As the factory closed at 11 pm, a number of armed saboteurs entered the company and overpowered the workers, two sabotage guards and the foreman. Everyone was bundled into a room in the front of the building. Then the saboteurs planted three explosive charges between 15-16 German trucks which were parked at one end of the assembly hall. At the other end, there were Danish motor vehicles which escaped any damage. The explosions were so powerful that the roof of the assembly hall was damaged, some partition walls collapsed, and several of the factory's neighbouring buildings were damaged. All window panes in the assembly hall were shattered along with some windows in the neighbouring properties.
