The hangars had been taken over by the Wehrmacht and were used for the production of cartridge belts for the machine guns in Luftwaffe's aircraft. The workshops were heavily guarded by the Danish-Nazi Summer Corps. An employee toolmaker smuggled in approximately 30 kg of TNT. On 6th May, during the workers' lunch, the BOPA group went into action. They had to go through three rows of barbed wire to reach the hangars. The workers were held up and led into shelters. Bombs were planted in all of the hangars, and after a signal was given, they were detonated simultaneously. Thereafter, the saboteurs disappeared on bicycles. The guards did not detect any sabotage attack before the explosions happened. The hangars were totally destroyed. The operation took 25 minutes.
