The company suffered several bomb explosions, which destroyed large parts of the factory. A subsequent fire started in a storeroom. The fire brigade was called out many times over the next few days to deal with the persistent fire. It is believed that the sabotage attack was made in error, as it was wrongly believed that the company worked for the Wehrmacht.
