The proprietor of the tailor's shop, J. Tvede, reportedly had a factory in Roskilde that worked for the Wehrmacht. Both German civilians and soldiers visited the company. The owner had also previously been a member of DNSAP but had resigned from the party about 1½ years before the sabotage. Through a hole made in the window in the entrance door, an attempt was made to start a fire in the entrance of the company. However, the fire only took hold of some coconut matting and a door curtain before it was put out.
