The fireworks bomb was thrown from the street through a broken window. However, the explosion did not cause much damage -some plaster fell from the ceiling and some windows broke because of the force. The German captain believed that it was more of a personal act of revenge than sabotage, as one of the German soldiers was in a relationship with a separated Danish woman.
