One of the shop's windows was smashed and a bottle containing flammable liquid was thrown into the retailer Carl F. Schmidt's shop. However, the fire was quickly discovered and extinguished, thus causing only minor damage. The incident was linked by the police to a series of sabotage attempts that took place between the 18th and 22nd August, due to similarities in patterns and material.
