The proprietor of the business was a former member of DNSAP and constantly advertised in several Nazi magazines. During the sabotage, the shop windows were smashed and "Nazi swine" had been painted on the store's facade. A small bottle of flammable liquid was also thrown into the store, and an attempt to light it was made. However, only a small fire ignited in a wooden crate containing goods, and seemed to burn itself out. The incident was linked by the police to a series of sabotage attempts that took place between the 18th and 22nd August, due to similarities in patterns and material.
