The boatyard was working for Henry Rasmussen's Shipyard, which worked almost exclusively for the Wehrmacht. The saboteurs held up the boat builder's family and cut the telephone line. Another saboteur held up the boat builder in the workshop and planted an explosive bomb and four additional firebombs. The firebombs did not work, but the bomb blast destroyed the workshop's machinery and a German speedboat that was under construction.
