The machine workshop was located in the yard, at the eastern end of a large detached wooden barracks. Seven armed men forced entry into the building and held up two of the workers. After planting the explosive charge, the saboteurs led the two workers away from the yard and thereafter, they disappeared on bicycles. In the explosion, the walls of the barracks had toppled over to the sides and the machines were destroyed. The frame of a skylight window in the barracks had been slung over the five-storey residential buildings and was located in the middle of Lindenowsgade. A knitwear factory in the same barracks had its sewing room completely razed, while the weaving factory was relatively unscathed.
