The company was not working directly or indirectly for the Wehrmacht and was mistakenly set as a target based on unconfirmed rumours. In the explosion, furniture and machinery in the workshop were destroyed and several walls collapsed. A stack of car tyres was also ignited. After the fire, the remains of two firebombs were found, and these were of the same type that had been used in several previous sabotages.
