The plan was to blow up the dock gate at the shipyard on Refshale Island, but the site was under heavy guard. That being the case, the compressor house was set as a target instead. The explosives were planted in two large toolboxes and carried into the company. The three armed saboteurs forced a worker to open the door to the compressor house, and the bombs were planted both on the compressor and on the roof of an adjoining building. The explosion was planned to happen during the lunch break, so it was not necessary to warn the workers. There was a bang and the compressor house collapsed. The compressor did not seem to be damaged as it continued to work until it was stopped manually. The second explosive charge never exploded, and as a result, the bomb disposal unit was summoned.
