The saboteurs smashed a pane of glass in the window which allowed them to open the window and enter the workshop. They tried to start a fire by lighting firebombs at both ends of the building - at the one end on a wooden shelf on the wall and the other end below some stored wood. In both cases, the fire never really took hold and therefore only caused minor scorching around where the fires had started. The incident was linked by the police to a series of sabotage attempts that took place between the 18th and 22nd August, due to similarities in patterns and material.
