In the morning, saboteurs disguised as milkmen managed to sneak pass the gatekeeper. They had hidden a total of 20 kg of explosives in three containers. Two of these exploded. At 10.27, Falck received a report about the explosions and fire, and for fear of further explosions ordered the Wehrmacht rescue work to stop at 5 pm. The saboteurs had brought a photographer to the attack!
