About 95% of the company's total production went to Germany. The machine joinery, where the fire started, was separated from the southerly positioned hand joinery by a fire retardant wall, which is why the fire was restricted to only one half of the building. This half was, however, severely razed in the fire. The roofing felt burned down together with other woodwork, and the machines were damaged. An outside wooden shed partially burned while a porch roof on the eastern side of the building was engulfed in flames. Some piles of chipboard and planks were also set on fire by the perpetrators.
