About 80% of the company's production went to the Wehrmacht. Three months earlier, the transformer station had been the target of a minor explosion, but this time the explosion was extremely powerful and the building was completely shattered. The iron gates facing the street were ripped from the building, thrown across the street and landed in the neighbour’s residence, making a hole in the front façade. Explosions from the transformer factory covered a radius of approx. 20m. The perpetrator gained access to the transformer station via a drainpipe at a nearby property.
