The team was at the drop zone but no plane was seen. According to the pilot’s report, the morse coded letter was correct, but there were no other lights so the load was not dropped.

The plane, an American B-24 Liberator, airdropped 12 Fox-containers and 2 packages of grenades and guns. During the drop, the bottom fell out of 2-3 containers, so the contents (carbines) stood planted vertically into the ground. While they collected everything, one of the guards accidentally fired a shot from his machine gun. As a result, a large group of Russians in German military service advanced towards the drop zone. The reception team had to leave the containers and leave immediately. The whole consignment was lost.
