The team was at the drop zone but no plane was seen. The English report states that the plane has not returned to base. The plane, Stirling PK 228 from 299 Squadron, was on its way to a drop zone west of Fjerritslev when it crashed into the sea. The entire crew perished. The pilot, W.R.F. Curry, washed ashore near Tornby on the 7th June 1945. The plane’s navigator is buried at Heliigsø. The remainder of the crew disappeared at sea.
