The reception team was at the drop zone but neither heard nor saw an aircraft. From the English side, it was reported that the plane had not returned home. The plane, Stirling LK 149 from 138 Squadron, was on the way to drop zone “Marie” at Hobro but disappeared over the North Sea. Three of the drowned crew’s bodies drifted ashore to the west coast. Four crew were lost at sea.
