Frijsenborg drop zone

The parachutes open and slowly descend onto the drop zone where the reception team is waiting.

Intro

German activity in the vicinity meant that the reception team did not come to the drop zone. The pilot reported that there were no people at the drop zone, and therefore no airdrop was made.

The plane airdropped 12 Lion-containers and a Eureka (radio beacon). The consignment was found in the forest by three foresters. They opened one container which then exploded and killed them all. The Eureka was also destroyed. The remainder of the consignment was seized by the Germans. It has since come to light that the Gestapo had placed a bomb in the container.
