On the 2nd December, the SOE agent Poul Eduard Brandenburg (“Apricot”) was airdropped at Randers. He was positioned to lead SOE's sabotage campaign where travelling saboteurs were to operate throughout Jutland. The group planned several sabotages, but only a few were carried out due to a shortage of explosives. In the period leading up to the liberation, the travelling saboteurs were given the task of preparing the defence of the Jutland Command’s Headquarters.
